हजारे के साथ हजारों .....

When Anna Hazare tried to raise his voice against corruption the government tried to forcefully stop him by counter attacking and at last sent him to the jail .But the homework done by Anna and his team made the Indians realized that the old man is fighting for their cause and lakhs of people came out and protested seeing this the government have to reverse the arrest orders .

The USP of this movement in my opinion is that there is no political party  involved and this shows how Aam aadmi is keen to remove corruption which is said to be destroying the country as cancer does to the human body.Anna owes a great deal to his detainees the labels like 'second freedom struggle' and 'murder of democracy' ,Indeed ,after the government was foolish enough to chain the messiah of public morality.Mr. Hazare  is the potent symbol of public rage and frustration.

It is strongly believe that corruption is the root cause of inadequate development .The entire political class ,including the opposition ,is responsible for the public's cynicism .How can the class which takes money/bribe for simply asking a question in Parliament ,give us a lok pal the country deserve? Most of the citizen adore this corrupt system because of there laziness and coltish nature .

The government machinery and think tanks who would have used the time and energy in discussions how to make jan lokpal properly implemented are now forced to waste time in how to stop the agitation and save their face.

Main bhi Anna, tu bhi Anna, ab toh saara desh hai Anna.

Anna Hazare and middle class India are synonym now .Any word uttered against the crusader Mr Hazare will be taken as statement against 50 million and fastest growing middle class of India who are now showing there power to the world by protesting peacefully in India .Countries like Japan and UK also had protests in favour of Anti corruption crusader.

Kisan Baburao Hazare is an activist who has been recognised for his work in developing and structuring his village Ralegan Siddhi. The government of India honoured the activist in 1992 by awarding him a Padma Bhushan award, but nine years later, the population of India has termed Hazare ‘Desh Ka Naya Gandhi’ for his successful campaign against corruption and his demand for a Lokpal Bill.

Today, tiffins will not be delivered to more than two lakh offices in Mumbai and Udaipur is also witnessing Bandh. Anna Hazare previously had to struggle for 11 years continuously against government for giving rights to citizens by making legislation for Right to Information, More Rights for the Gram Sabha, Regulating Transfers of the Government Officers, Prohibition and against Red Tapism.
Hazare staged a 98-hour hunger strike in April that led to UPA government allowing him and his supporters to help draft the new anti-corruption law, called the "Lokpal" bill. The proposed Lokpal bill creates a new ombudsman tasked with investigating and prosecuting politicians and bureaucrats, but Hazare wants the prime minister and higher judiciary to come under scrutiny.US State Departmentsaid last week that Washington counted on India "to exercise appropriate democratic restraint" when handling of anti-graft protests.

The crowds gathered to support Anna Hazare are spiritual, and there have been no incidents of violence so far in the country where political rallies turn violent easily.Supporters expressed happiness over the 73-year-old Gandhian's decision to come out from the prison complex following rounds of negotiations with the police and authorities to decide on agitation venue to undertake hunger strike. We will go with Anna and sit at Ramlila Maidan for as many days we can. We want Jan Lokpal Bill to kill this corruption "says most of the Middle class and even the Upper class along with the Uneducated who are hit proportionately with corruption .

Anna ki aandhi !

Democracy at a threat ! A men mobilized the nation within hours to protest against the national cause of fighting against corruption .The government tried its level best to demotivate the citizens but as everyone knew no political party is attached to the cause so a huge number of people supported the cause and took the government to feats .The government after the Ramdev episode had long rounds of discussions but all in vain .They arrested Anna in early morning hoping to resist people but almost whole India came out on streets and supported their own cause.

Government was on Tuesday night faced with a piquant situation with Anna Hazare refusing to come out of Tihar Jail despite being offered a release, 15 hours after he was detained and prevented from going on fast demanding a strong Lokpal. Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned over the issue. With opposition parties and activists likening the government action to the emergency imposed in the country in 1975.The arrest sparked off angry, widespread protests with reports of people courting arrests from different parts of the country and opposition parties slamming the move as an attack on democratic and civil rights of citizens.

Murder of democracy, rehearsal of emergency, sad day all the networking sites were flooded with such quotes within seconds and the protest took an unexpected rise and the government's intelligence failure on accessing the movement .Nobody denies that Mr Hazare's movement against corruption has touched a chord among many Indians, who are fed up with corruption and the political class. Nobody denies that corruption is India's biggest threat to growth and all-round prosperity and development. At the same time, many believe that framing the corruption debate only in the terms of the state versus Mr Hazare-led 'civil society' threatens to trivialise the war on corruption and augurs ill for India.

Spark that ignited the Nation

Do you know how Right to Information act came into being?  It all started from a small incidence at a small town in rajasthan named Bheem. In early 90s when rajasthan was facing a severe draught govt launched various draught relief schemes. One of them was providing employment to poor people of rural Rajasthan . In which certain rain water harvesting schemes and rural road development schemes were started .
Like any other scheme this scheme was also completed successfully on papers . But the reality was something different , not a single penny was invested at the actual site. Seeing this some of the local politicians and villagers protested and demanded the muster rolls to verify that who all worked an what was the actual result. They went from office to  office but in vain !

The concerned officers refused to provide the relevant documents, say it was an official document and couldn't released to public as they termed it as confidential and can't be handed over to citizens.
The citizens of Bheem did not gave up they took shelter of the judiciary.
As the writ was filed at High court ,the court took matter into consideration and ordered investigation into the matter and it was ruled that the actual muster rolls be provided to the public , to improve the transparency in govt works as the money involved and the work done was concerned with public directly.
Later it became a national movement and supreme court ordered the govt to draft a bill to improve the transparency in public affairs. That's how a small movement in a village spread all over India. This shows the power of democracy and bargaining for one's rights.

Independence ?

In the midst of rising cases of corruption, scams, slowing economic growth and terror, As rain washed out the national capital, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh addressed the nation on the country's 65th Independence Day and said Corruption is a big obstacle in national transformation
With government facing attack over multiple scams, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, addressing the nation for the eighth consecutive year on the occasion of Independence Day acknowledging that corruption is a big obstacle in national transformation, he said the menace should be discussed in a manner that should not create an atmosphere in which country’s progress comes into question.

At the outset our concern was the stability of the nation but it was proved many a times that the people by intuition and instinct would clear the nation safe from turmoil and disintegration. In the sixth decade of Independence we are witnessing the spectacle of ministers resigning for different reasons and even a minister going to prison. Corruption has become endemic and people clamour for honesty and transparency in governance. Lokpal is the desired redeemer and the day after our celebration of the 65th Independence Day, albeit under unprecedented security, Anna Hazare will begin the second phase of his prolonged agitation for a foolproof machinery to detect corruption and punish the corrupt. After ushering in the information era with the passage of the Right to Information Act, we are striving to reach the golden era of transparency and accountability.

Pushing into the fading memories of history the ravages of colonial rule, India is forging ahead with vigour and confidence. But there is the other side, unlike the earth, always remaining in darkness. We, the people still remain an endearing constitutional prelude but it is not encompassing the entire people. Freedom remains fractured; democracy works for a minority; and the twilight zones expand where the dawn of freedom is indefinitely delayed.
People are angry. They are feeling angry with their elected governments. The claim of India as a sovereign, democratic republic may not remain long unless we are willing to address grave issues. There are many Tottenhams in and around us and warnings aplenty are blowing in the wind. What happened there can happen here. Political space for democratic activity is shrinking and it is occupied by unrepresentative civil society, grabbing the constitutional duty of the elected representatives to legislate.

Terrorism and insurgency are lurking as permanent threats to our freedom. As many as 310 of the country’s 636 districts are currently afflicted by terrorist and insurgent activities. Last year 1,902 persons lost their lives due to acts of terrorism and in insurgent conflicts. This is the state of the nation where we are trying to create a bubble of hallucination out of contradictions. At 65, are we ageing or are we reinventing ourselves?

Part of daily dose .

Why ?.................Why do we all want to blame others for everything which is wrong or not in place and love to take credit for all good and right things ?

It’s totally natural and totally human to want the credit and also the flip-side of that is to not want to be unfairly blamed. And the fact is that dynamics of credit and blame can be unfair.Well It's amazing how many people deflect responsibility for their actions and choices and blame others or circumstances for their problems. While playing the "blame game" is common, too much deflection of responsibility is actually a self-defeating behavior pattern.

an issue with an overly dependent coworker who does not give credit is too common .and the best answer to it may be you should be more concerned about doing your job well than worrying about who gets credit .Well it is difficult  practically !
Taking responsibility doesn't mean that we have total control over our destinies. In reality we all are affected by events beyond our control such as our genetic endowments, and a host of random, environmental factors.perhaps so many of us know someone who maybe, perhaps, might give themselves a little too much credit. And as a result, and out of fear of giving ourselves too much credit, we overcompensate their overcompensation, with under compensation.

Many people think that excuses are the replacement for results. And so if you take away excuses then people start to get results. So from now on whenever you blow it just simply say, "I blew it .

RAKSHABANDHAN

The bond between a brother and a sister takes so many shades. They argue, they quarrel, they fight but they also pray for each other’s safety, success, and prosperity with a bosom full of love, affection and respect.
Call2Roots wishes you Happy Rakhi
Rakhi festival is celebrated on the Shravan Purnima (full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan (July - August), where in sisters tie the sacred Rakhi thread on their brothers right wrists, and pray for their long life. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is called by various names such as Vish Tarak (the destroyer of poison), Punya Pradayak (the offer of boons), and Pap Nashak (the destroyer of sins).

As Rakhi signifies the various phases of protection from evil forces, as a mark of this, the sister ties Rakhi string to her brother’s hand. The Raksha Bandhan thread is tied on the right wrist of brothers who in return take a pledge to protect their sisters from all evils. This Rakhi thread binds brothers and sisters into a bond of affection and care for each other. These threads in ancient times used to have simple traditional looks. However, in the modern times, Rakhis are made more attractive, finely blown up using various artistic patterns.
Though, Rakhi Festival is more famous in north and western region of India, Raksha Bandhan festival is celebrated with much religious importance all over India.A part in the Indian epic Mahabharatha narrates the divine bond of brother-sister love between Lord Krishna and Draupathi. The most delicate nature is
established between the fair sex and the cavaliers of Rajasthan. Though the
bracelet may be sent by maidens, it is only on occasions of
urgent danger or necessity . The Rajput dame bestows with the
Rakhi the title of adopted brother and while its acceptance
secures to her all protection of a cavaliers servant, scandal
itself never suggests any other tie to his devotion. He may
hazard his life in her cause .Such is the grandness of the thread
of Rakhi.

Minting money from your dream !

Gone are the days when coaching classes were run by the middle-aged former teacher down the road or your neighbour's daughter ran a tuition centre from a ramshackle room. Now it's as formal and organised sector as any other and is housed in a commercial building.A decade or two back the word coaching or tuition was an option for the weak students, but now Private academies that train students for entrance exams of the Indian Institutes of Technology and other prestigious engineering colleges mint Rs.100 billion ($2.30 billion) a year - an amount that can fund 30 to 40 new IITs, shows a study by an industry body. Why there is an urge to go to a coaching class ?

Arakshan ! Reservation is the main cause which gave a thrust to the coaching classes ,most of the students who are in reserve class lack in self esteem and self confidence as they know there is a stiff competition .Same with the general category students as they think they have to get better marks in competitive exam to join any course so they take shelter at coaching classes .

Parents also want the kid become an engineer so that they can command a respect in the society for this many take loans and admit there kids to coaching class as early as 8th standard and hamper their childhood .here the child is reminded every now and than that a huge sum of money is invested on him and he is expected to come out with flying colors in exams.

India has over 12 million students in higher education but fewer than 350,000 faculty members. This uneven student teacher ratio force the country to categorize the education institutes and so we have less of quality institutions so coaching has become a requirement to get admission in these quality institutes or leave the country for higher studies to foreign.Talking about another anomaly in higher education about 80,000-90,000 students go abroad for higher studies, leading to a high foreign exchange outflow .If quality institutions are provided, a large number of students will stay back and contribute to the nation.

This coaching phenomena is too dangerous as there is coaching available for almost everything from pre nursery onwards .Value system is faded and competition has replaced it slowly and now it is high time that we look into this !

White or Red ! What is the color of cotton we wear ?

Mani, 14, was beaten when she tried to chat with other children working in the cotton fields.“He scolded us with bad words and would strike us on the legs, back and shoulders,” Mani said. But she was powerless. The farmer had loaned her parents 20,000 rupees in return for four years of their daughter’s daily labour ,so that people like me and you can wear a cool shirt or trouser.

There are lots of children being bought, kidnapped and taken to cotton fields to work for 10 hours daily because cotton production is painstaking work that requires long hours of cleaning, seeding and hauling water to fields, then standing and individually cross-pollinating each flower by hand before finally plucking every bloom. Often, child workers suffer respiratory and other health problems caused by exposure to pesticides, extreme heat and physical stress. Some are also beaten or sexually abused by employers. The severity can be realized from the fact that until two years back the number of children engaged in this work was over 1.5 lakh. Parents of these children are paid some advance amount and what these children get later is a paltry amount like Rs 10 a day for toiling for hours together. They get food which is much better than what they get back at home. But studies by NGOs and others show that they are served very poor quality food and no education ofcourse!

Most child workers are Dalits, the bottom layer of India’s complex caste system, and among the world’s most exploited people. Which is all part of the problem. The main reason for this flourishing trade is poverty condition in the districts dominated by tribal population. These families have extremely low expectations, especially when it comes to educating girls who could be earning in the cotton fields.

Rajasthan police keeps a special check on children crossing into Gujarat. Village level task forces and children protection committees have been formed in bordering districts of Dungarpur, Banswara and Udaipur to check movement of children but all in vain as the checkposts doesn't have the staff and sometimes bribing the police is also too easy.

The business is flourishing because of middle men who get handsome commission for bringing children to BT cotton fields. Taking advantage of backwardness of people, they keep lion share of the money they get for payment to children. In the distant land, there is none to help these children nor anyone to guide them, shouldn't we do something for these kids who almost give there blood and life for our cloths?

The Fatehsagar Lake

                 Fateh Sagar Lake
Fatah Sagar Lake is situated in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This artificial lake was dug up by ‘Maharana Jai Singh’ in 1678 and reconstructed by ‘Maharana Fateh Singh’ by raising a big enchanting embankment. The main dam is 2800 ft. long and 35 ft. deep.  Said to be the pride of the City of Lakes of Udaipur, it is an artificial lake constructed by Maharana in north of Lake Pichola in 1678 and to the north-west of Udaipur. It is one of the four lakes of the Udaipur city; the other three lakes are: the Lake Pichola (within the Udaipur town), Udai Sagar Lake (13 km to the east of Udaipur) and Dhebar Lake or Jaisamand Lake (52 km south east of Udaipur). Within the confines of the Fatah Sagar Lake, there are three small islands.; the largest of these is the island called the Nehru Park (4 km area), which is a popular garden with a restaurantThere is a boat shaped café which is also an attraction for visitors. , the second island (0.06 km area) houses a public park with an impressive water-jet fountain and the third island (1.2 km area) addresses Udaipur Solar Observatory, which is the best solar observing site in Asia. Fateh Sagar Lake is quiet place where people usually come for relaxation and to lighten up amidst the serene waters of the lake.

Fateh Sagar Lake is well-planned with three intake channels and an overflow channel that is usually brought into play in the rainy season. The primarily aim to construct this lake was to carry out irrigational practices. But, eventually the lake became reliable water supply source in the entire region. Lake Fateh Sagar, in fact is the second utmost source of water supply for Udaipur.Said to be the pride of the City of Lakes of Udaipur. One can enjoy boating with moist hills and scenic view in the background. It will indeed be a refreshing feel as cool breeze will leave you energized and thrilled. And make sure that you don’t miss the opportunity to view the magnificent sunset from this lake as it will give you some picture perfect shots.

No proofs needed !

Perhaps not actually necessary but certainly beneficial for learning and growth is a bad phase in life and it can never be avoided .I personally feel that life is simply an examination and we are either a failure or success.
but the fact is, we cant judge as the content of life which determine this situation is too too blurred and it is difficult to make out what we have lost worth how much and what all we gained in the journey is really ! Also, who and how will we come to know when we have to analyze in life when we have everything you would think But may be the next moment have the bloody spirit and vigor to take away everything .

Energy is needed for each and every thought and from where we get it ? It is from the thought ,Yes if we are positive about our feature than nothing can stop us .Even the worse fear will bypass our mind .So vice versa same as "life and zeal " if we don't have the zeal or passion for anything life becomes stagnant and lethargic .

There are environments which sometimes fill positivity in life that's the reason why we go to a picnic ,movie or friends place on a weekend ,we recharge ourselves .Maybe by looking at others we get the feel of the positive stream and get the JOSH !

Talking about supernatural powers when I was a child i was fascinated with superheros like Phantom ,Saabu , Superman ETC and use to think that they are the forces behind this mother nature time passed someone told me that these superheros are our own creations and my faith in them got tarnished and God came into picture . And I believe he is the one ,no one knows from where ? so everyone have the faith in god whom they haven't seen.it doesn't  look strange that when we talk about anyone we ask for proofs and guarantees but nothing of such for the unknown force?

The Criminal Wastage

"ANNAM PARABRAHMA SWAROOPAM," says our Indian philosophy. This means that food is equal to God as told by our great ancient sayers. But we, their descendants, are we giving the same amount of respect to this age-old God? Frankly, most of us do not. Result: Millions of our fellow beings are dying in hunger when millions of tons of food is being thrown away, wasted, discarded, whatever; for no good reason most of the times. Other times there are a few good complications because of which food is wasted. Except for them, this is a very simple problem with colossal possibilities of simple solutions. In brief it is "Don't waste food; Give it to others."

Way back in early nineteen sixties, practically every food scientists in India were chanting the now familiar "mantra" that 35% of the country's food was being wasted and urgent measures were required to stop this enormous waste which would only assure food security. After billions of rupees spent on food conservation research during the last 50 years and successfully managing the Green Revolution that ensured plentiful supplies of food grains, is it not a quirk of irony that same "waste mantra" is still repeated ad naseum to day by the Minister for Food Processing Industry at the Center, who might not have been even borne at that time? There is no dearth of conservation technology in the country to prevent the waste and scientific design of grain storage structures is within the reach of the government, if it really desires to arrest the grain wastage. Unfortunately what is lacking is the political will and dynamism on the part of the government that obstructs a long term vision.

When the daughter of businessman Mohammed Sultan got married recently, guests were treated to a lavish 30-course meal served in super-sized silver platters. About 20 percent would've been thrown away. It's a criminal waste, around 100,000 weddings and social events are held in India every day food wasted each day at weddings and family functions in Mumbai alone would be enough to feed the city's vast slum population.food prices in India are rising fast — by 8.4 per cent in June alone — as demand outstrips production. And the burden is falling disproportionately on the poor. Experts say the jump in prices for staples to record highs over the past few months has pushed another 64 million Asians into poverty.

The loss due to wastage could be reduced by a developed food  processing industry, strengthening of the post- harvest infrastructure and filling the gaps in the supply chain.some of the latest technologies for the cold chain industry include post harvest technologies for pre cooling process technologies for controlled ripening ,high relative humidity cold stores for fruits and vegetables, blast freezing and individual quick freezing for fruits and vegetables among others.

Some quick tips to reduce food wastage
Don't fall for "three for two" deals on fresh food unless you'll definitely use them.
Plan weekly meals and stick to shopping lists.
Watch your portion sizes and make sure plates are being completely cleared at mealtimes.
Remove bad stale food immediately as it can harm the good one .

To conclude I want to quote Gandhiji " If God were to appear to the millions of hungry people, it would be in the form of food".
