Jo dikhta hai woh Bikta hai

The earlier approach to marketing was simple enough. Make sure the product is visible , on store shelves and through mass media advertising  and it will more or less sell itself. With the evolution of modern retail, though, the emphasis is shifting to in-store displays and promotions  probably also because for the first time, the space for such initiatives is available.

But manufacturers no longer have the last word on what will happen at the store. “Modern trade has a significant say in promotions, perhaps because it offers far superior results with a much faster lead time,” says Future Group’s Mall.

Cadbury India Bosses points out that retailers are more open to brand promotions and displays including posters, gondolas and danglers — when manufacturers back up their ideas with shopper insights. “There will be a shift from traditional media to increased communication at the point of purchase,” They says.

Initiatives that help grow the category as a whole are particularly welcome, say analysts, since that boosts the retailers’ revenue. And many FMCG companies are predicting that spends on promotion, in-store and point of purchase displays will increase significantly from the present 20-30 per cent share of the marketing budget.

Consumer goods companies need to make several changes  in strategy and in attitude too if they are to achieve the same level of success with organised retail as they have with traditional formats.

Jawani ya Badnami ?

Tantalizing moves catchy words and lovely figures of both Munni in Munni badnam Hui and Sheila in Sheila ki jawani leaves the audience enthralled. Music director Vishal and Shekhar along with the Lyricist Vishal Dadlani have combined English words and music to give Sheila the correct spice of life. The voices both of Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani, gives an out of the world feeling which helps the audience sway to the rhythm.
All choreographers pick both these songs for dance competitions as they too are aware of the great fan following of these two item numbers and expect a major vote from the audience too. The difference of the two films is that the character Munni is an item girl and not the heroine in the film while Shiela is the heroine in her film.
Sheila correctly mentions in the song that she is here to “drive you crazy”, and although she is very sexy she teases saying “Main tere haath na aani”. Munni too on the other hand teases saying “le Zandu balm hui darling tere liye”. This sends the audience in a split of laughter.
Both these songs which are called the item numbers of the films carry so much weight that even critics have to refrain from criticizing the film as the audience will go ahead  and disagree. For people who have seen these films are bound to agree that Malika Arora Khan and Katrina Kaif have done a very good job. They have both carried the film to a great success and of-course the directors knew the correct ingredients for a film to do well. The correct spice is a song and a dance number which sweeps the audience to their feet and makes them happy as they come out of the pains of the real world.
Farah Khan the choreographer for both films is aware of the popular movements and is able to load the song with the correct moves. Malika is a dancer herself and must have found it comparatively easy to shoot for the sequence while Katrina who is basically an actor trained for the belly dance moves to give the song the correct effect. Both have put up such a spectacular show that it will be the talk of town for sometime and a learning point for many choreographers and directors.
Thumbs- up for both Sheila and Munni for making people buy tickets to watch a entire film for a dance which is well talked about.

My SON and me .

Guys, today unexpectedly my five year old son told me that he want to be an astronaut and want to ride in a rocket.I was amused , as ,till the age of 10 years I didn't knew what astronaut was ,while my son could tell me that the rocket doesn't have a steering like a car but there are lot of gear like things in a rocket .

when he asked me that he want to go to his Mama's house in kolkatta which is far off I suggested him to choose the profession of an engineer and make a car which can zoom fast ,on my suggestion he commented that BMW has already made a car which run like a rocket so i don't want to be an engineer .Here I would like to tell u that he is obsessed with cars he can even make out between different type of cars on road like merc, safari ,innova, swift ,zen and so on, while on a journey in a running car .

These innocent little conversation opened my eyes that how fast the technology is getting into these tech savvy children of this era .Intelligence and proper updated with world could help him lead a good and smart life.In this era of competition ,is it intelligence or need of the hour ?

The power of NAP

Thomas Edison did it all the time. So did Winston Churchill. And just about every one of us had childhood training to be a star in the field. What field is that? Why, napping, of course. Yet despite these famous examples and early practice, most of us would never dream of napping on a regular basis – or admitting it if we did.Call it a “power nap” if you’re feeling trendy, or a “catnap” if you’re more traditional.

The key is to recognize that sleep isn’t a simple on-0ff switch, but a set of cycles. A typical sleep cycle includes five to ten minutes of falling asleep, then another ten minutes or so of light, restful sleep. Then comes an hour or more of deep and dreamless “slow-wave sleep” followed by a quick period of rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep, when the most vivid dreams occur. All told, a single sleep cycle takes most people 90 to 120 minutes.
If your nap includes just the first two stages, you get the rest without the dazed feeling that can come from being awakened from slow-wave sleep. So for most people, a 15 or 20 minute nap is good, a 90 or 120 minute nap (a full cycle) is good, but in between is much less restful. It’s those short naps that are the energizing power naps that all nap addicts go on about.

Kya ab Bajaga Raja ka Baja?

As former Telecom Minister A. Raja, his former Personal Secretary R. K. Chandolia and ex-Telecom Secretary Siddhartha Behura were ordered by a Delhi Court on Thursday to remain in CBI custody for the next five days, CBI officials appear set to sharpen their line of questioning to elicit more information on various aspects relating to alleged irregularities and violation of guidelines in the grant of licenses and allocation of 2G spectrum during 2008.

The CBI has so far questioned the accused persons, asking them why allotment of licenses was done in a hasty and improper manner. The CBI would need to establish that procedural guidelines were violated by the accused who abused their official position in award of licenses during 2008.

The scandal has caused outrage and damaged the government's reputation.Auditors estimate the mis-selling of the licences cost the exchequer nearly $40bn (£24.5bn) in lost revenue. He was forced to quit in November after it emerged that 2G spectrum licences had been sold for a fraction of their valueCertain companies were favoured. The scandal has been front-page news in India for months.Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is under pressure to explain why he did not act sooner in the case. The Prime Minister maintained even late last year that Raja did nothing wrong, he did what his predecessor did. (Kapil) Sibal maintained a fortnight ago that Raja had caused no loss to the exchequer,
The action against Raja and his aids is said to be too little and too late by the government which is a pitty .He and his associates got lot of time to manipulate the facts .The arrest is too little too late. It is very unfair to say that Raja alone had gulped Rs 1.76 lakh crore. Who are the rest of the people the country categorically wants to know that. The last but least question which arrises in public mind is weather CBI behave in favour of country or in favour of ruling party?
