Bappa Rawal was one of the most powerful and famous rulers of the Mewar Dynasty. Although a surviving member of the Guhilot clan, Prince Kalbhoj ,his actual name who came from Atri clan did not continue the family name of seven generations when he came to the throne; instead, he established the Mewar Dynasty. It is said that Bappa was blessed by Harit Rishi, a sage of the Mewar region, with kingship. His father, Rawal Mahendra II had married a woman of the Paramara Rajput clan, from Mt. Abu or Chandravati, both Paramara centres at that time. She was also the sister of Maan Mori, the Paramara king who ruled much of the State of Mewar. This included Guhilot clan land, which Paramara invaders from Malwa had annexed a century or so earlier, and set up their capital in the ancient fortress of Chittorgarh.
Bappa Rawal is said to have spent his childhood near a place called Nagda. As with most high-spirited princes, there are several legends from Bappa's early years as a youth in the wild Aravalli Hills. The pranks of this royal shepherd (he tended the sacred cattle of the Brahmans) . One afternoon, in a game of his own devising, he 'married' several of the young girls, which ended with his having to flee Nagda to a hide-out in the hills to escape the maidens' irate parents. An interesting footnote to this legend of potential virility is that Bappa Rawal is said to have married many women, Hindu and Muslim, and sired well over one hundred children.
Bappa Rawal played an important role in a series of wars fought in the 8th century AD between the regional rulers of North-Western India and the Arabs of Sindh.
When in 39th century of Kaliyuga (i.e 8th century A.D.). Muslims started attacking India within a few decades of the birth of Islam. In order to face off Muslim invasions across the western and northern borders of Rajputana, Bappa Rawal united the smaller states of Ajmer and Jaisalmer to stop the attacks. Bappa Rawal fought and defeated the Arabs in the country and turned the tide for a time being.
Besides being a brave warrior who lead his army to great victories, Bappa Rawal was also known to be a just ruler. After having ruled his kingdom for a long time he abdicated the throne in favour of his son ,he himself turned into Siva upasaka or worshiper of Shiva and became a Yati which means an ascetic who has full control over his passions .

Maharana Pratap and the battle of haldighati.
Maharana Pratap Singh, the greatest ever ruler of mewar was born on may09 1540 and jan 29 1597.he belonged to the sisodia clan of suryavanshi rajputs.In 1568, during the reign of Udai Singh II, Chittor was conquered by the Mughal emperor Akbar . The third ''Jauhar'' of Chittor transpired, with the ladies of the fort finding "safety from personal dishonour in the devouring element fire" while the remaining menfolk sallied forth to certain death in the battlefield.
Prior to this calamity, Udai Singh and his family had wisely moved to the safety of the nearby hills. He later moved base to another location in the foothills of the Aravalli Range. This new base gradually became the city of Udaipur, named after him. Rana Udai Singh wanted Jagmal, his favourite son, to succeed him but his senior nobles wanted Pratap, the eldest son, to be their king as was customary. During the coronation ceremony Jagmal was physically moved out of the palace by the Chundawat Chief and Tomar Ramshah and Pratap was made the King, the Rana of Mewar. Pratap did not want to go against the wishes of his father but Rajput nobles convinced him that Jagmal was not fit to rule in the troubled times of the day. It was the beginning of a career of struggle and hardship.
Maharana Pratap lived till 29jan1597 and he never accepted Akbar as ruler of India till than, and fought Akbar all his life. Akbar first tried diplomacy to win over Maharana Pratap but nothing worked. Pratap maintained that he had no intention to fight with Akbar but he could not bow down to Akbar and accept him as his suzerain. Some scholars argue that there was some possibility that Maharana could have become friends with Akbar, but in the siege of Chittor Akbar had killed 27,000 civilians. This left a lasting impression on Maharana's mind and he decided he could not bow to such injustice and cruelty.
On June 21, 1576 (June 18 by other calculations), the two armies met at Haldighati, near the town of Gogunda in present-day Rajasthan. While accounts vary as to the exact strength of the two armies, all sources concur that the Mughal forces greatly outnumbered Pratap's men (4:1). The battle of Haldighati, a historic event in the annals of Rajputana, lasted only four hours. In this short period, Pratap's men essayed many brave exploits on the field. Folklore has it that Pratap personally attacked Man Singh: his horse Chetak placed its front feet on the trunk of Man Singh's elephant and Pratap threw his lance; Man Singh ducked, and the mahout was killed.
However, the numerical superiority of the Mughal army and their artillery began to tell. Seeing that the battle was lost, Pratap's generals prevailed upon him to flee the field so as to be able to fight another day. Myths indicate that to facilitate Pratap's escape, one of his lieutenants, a member of the Jhala clan, donned Pratap's distinctive garments and took his place in the battlefield. He was soon killed. Meanwhile, riding his trusty steed Chetak, Pratap made good his escape to the hills.
But Chetak was critically wounded on his left thigh by a Mardana Elephant Trunk Sword while Pratap had attempted to nail down Man Singh. Chetak was bleeding heavily and he collapsed after jumping over a small brook few kilometres away from the battle field. When Pratap’s general donned Pratap’s clothing and armour, it went unnoticed, thanks to the chaos of the war, but for two knights from the Mughal army. They could not communicate it with others in their group, due to the linguistic barrier the appropriate language would have been Persian, Marwari or Arabi, given the composition of the Mughal army. They immediately followed Pratap without wasting time. The moment they started chasing him, Pratap’s younger brother Shaktisingh, who was fighting from the Mughal side, he had some disputes with Pratap at the time of Pratap’s coronation; hence he had defected and gone over to Akbar’s court realized that his own brother was under threat. Pratap's general's sacrifice had already been discovered by him. He could not help but react against a threat to his own brother. He followed the Turks, engaged them in single combat and killed them. In the meanwhile, Chetak collapsed and Pratap saw his brother Shakti Singh killing the two Mughal riders. Saddened by the loss of his beloved general and horse, he embraced his brother and broke into tears. Shakti Singh also cried and asked for his brother's pardon, for having fought as his enemy. Pratap pardoned him later on he was given a huge estate near Chittor. Shaktisingh then offered him his own horse and requested him to get to a safe place. This incident is famous in Rajasthani folklore, a song “O Neele Ghode re Aswar” (O Rider of the Blue Horse) mentions it.
The impact of the battle on the Mughal army was also significant. In terms of numbers the Mughal army suffered heavier losses. This was also because of the intensive arrow showers by the Bhil tribes of the surrounding mountains who had sided with Pratap. To honour their contribution, a Bhil warrior was placed next to Pratap in the Royal Coat of Arms of Mewar.
The battle of Haldighat is considered to be the first Major breakthrough of Rajputs against the Mughals since the Second Battle of Khanwa in 1527, which was fought between Rana Sanga grandfather of Maharana Pratap, and the Mughal Babur grandfather of Akbar. It is regarded with a degree of significance by many Rajput families.

Pindaari made Nawab.
Pindari’s ,who were glorified in a recent film were initially tribals who use to stay in groups and there life line was looting .Pindaris were from Mongols who came along with Zenjez khan and settled became dacoits in northern India for living. They also started culture of contract loot in India ,where they looted people on someone else’s instruction and paid for this act.
When Raja Maan singh was the ruler of Marwar some of his courtiers tried to revolt against him ,he somehow came to know that a revolt can happen against him and the leader of the people who are unhappy with him is his prime minister .So he settled the grievances with Jagirdars and Ministers .
After about an year or so Raja Maan Singh called the leader of the pindaris and made a treaty, where he awarded him one lakh gold coins and told the pindaris to kidnap his prime minister .when the prime minister got kidnapped Raja Maan Singh invited all the courtiers who conspired against him under the leadership of his prime minister, they were eighty in number and ordered to close the gates of Mehrangarh fort .Than Raja Maan Singh brutally made all those eighty ministers along with the prime minister killed so that such out rising never happen.
In 19th century the britishers started rising in India when Delhi was under Bhadurshah zafar,the last mughal ruler, they also took help from Pindaris very often and paid them for there services. It became a regular association between britishers and Pindaris . In due course of time britishers formed a riaasat and placed the pindaries there and that riaasat was named Tauk. The pindari ruler of tauk was given title of “TAUK NAWAB.

Seva param dharma...
Multi millionaires are setting trends by donating crores of rupees for good causes like education ,health facilities and many other purposes (one example is from Birla who makes Birla mandirs and manages them). Whereas medium class people usually pay donations for water facilities ,to institutions who have vast networks for utilization of these funds .Very low income status person also donate to beggers and in temples ect.
But the real “Seva” for mankind is working for the comfort of an ill or disabled person . A person who is bedridden with an ailment such as paralyses, cancer, old age ,working for his comfort and living with him and helping him or her in their daily work is the best service a person can give to mankind.
Talking about “Seva” and not mentioning Mother Teresa and Florence Nightingale is like going to a temple and not acknowledging the power of the almighty. These two ladies devoted there whole life working for humanity and both are regarded as epitome of care and devotion. Mother teresa worked for leprosy patients at different hospitals and also formed “Missionaries of charity” an organization which works for them till date. Florence Nightingale (the lady with the lamp) was a nurse and she served the patients whole heartedly throughout her life with a same zeal.

Tobacco...........Mission Impossible.
India is world’s third largest producer of leaf tobacco. It is also a very large consumer of tobacco products. Tobacco is one of the important cash crops in the country and makes a significant contribution to the Indian economy in terms of employment, income to government revenue. It generates nearly Rs. 20 billion of income per annum.
Total consumption of tobacco products has been increasing in India, as in many other developing countries ,notwithstanding the increased awareness of negative health effects. Total tobacco consumption increased from around 300000 tonnes in 1972 to 450000 tonnes in 1999 an increase of 1.6 precent annually. Only about 20 percent of the total tobacco consumed in India(by weight) is in the form of cigarettes. Bidis account for about 40 percent of tobacco consumption (about 950 billion bidis),with the rest divided amoung chewing tobacco, pan masala, snuff, hookah, zarda and other mixtures. Cigarette smoking is essentially an urban areas, while 80 percent of bidi smokers are in rural areas .
Per capita consumption of cigarettes remains very low by international standards. This reflects the lower level of incomes and the substantial use of cheaper alternative tobacco products resulting .from traditional habits that are supported by the very low or non existent taxes on these products. Manufactured cigarettes, on which heavy exise duty is levied ,remain unaffordable for many . Per capita consumption of cigarettes declined from 99 pieces in 1990 to 87 pieces in 1993. However, the reduction in taxation on small non filter cigarettes in 1994 attracted more smokers to switch from bidis, and also encouraged downgrading both of which have helped increase per capita consumption quite substantially in the latter half of the 1990s. Thus , per capita consumption had reached 108 pieces per year by 1997.
Government policy regarding consumption of tobacco products applies mainly to its taxation measures and a limited control on use of tobacco products . The motivating rationale for tobacco taxation seems to be fiscal (ie. To maximize the excise revenue). Measures to control the use of tobacco on health grounds seem to have had only a small impact, partly because only a few control measures are in place ,and those are not fully implemented. These measures include ban on advertising cigarettes, banning smoking at public places. But these bans are not implemented strictly .
Tobacco production is an important source of income for Indian farmers . While alternative crops are available in terms of agronomic suitability, in general a move away from tobacco production would result in reduces income and food security for a considerable number of farmers. Manufacturing ,particularly of bidis, is also a source of employment and hence of income for a large number of people . Thus any attempts to control the use of tobacco would need to take into account the economic impact on these sectors.
So the mission seams to be impossible for the person who uses it as well as the government who can ban its use.

Charan..........the caste system
Chāraṇ (plural Charans; hindi:चारण;gujrati:ચારણ) is the term for a caste living in the gujrat and Rajasthan states of India. Members of this caste are highly revered for their unflinching readiness for martyrdom, bravery in war, high literary sense and deep loyalty to patrons.Ain-e-akbari states that Charans were good poets and better soldiers .The caste is also identified with the surnames "Mahiyaria","Gaden"," Adha", "Barhath" and "Akhawat". Members of this caste are considered to be divine by a large section of society. Women of the caste are adored as mother goddesses by other major communities of this region including Rajput Kings. The goddesses Karni, , Hinglaj(whose main temple is now in Baluchistan), Khodiyar and Sonal are well-known examples of it. This is one of the reasons that Charan men are often addressed as Deviputra, which literally means "son of goddess". In the medieval era, it was considered a matter of prestige and pride for a king to have a Charan in his court.
The Charans' caste system is based on written genealogy. A Charan will accept all the other Charans as equals even if they do not know each other and have radically different economic or geographic status. They are divided into four sections. Each section has several sub-sections and subsections have several stocks. Males and females of the same stock are considered brothers and sisters, and thus marriage within a stock is strictly forbidden. Similarly, marriages outside the Charan commnuty are not allowed. Instead of four sections, many authors consider 23 divisions a more fundamental way division comprising four [Pahada]s which literally means mount peaks, sixteen sakhas and three chals. The four sections mentioned before are just based on geographical identity and may overlap with many of the divisions under 23 divisions. As per 23 divisions the four Pahadas are (1) Nara (2) Chorada (3) Chuva and (4) Tumbel, three chals are (1) Ausura (also spelled Avsura), (2) Maru and (3) baati. Charan of one Pahad are considered brothers and sisters and cannot intermarry. As per these divisions Nara charan usually mary with Ausura, Chorada with Maru and Chuva with Baati. Tumbel don't have exclusive chaal to marry from and hence they are referred as half-Pahada. Tumel usually marry from any of the other three Pahadas and Chaals. Charans.........Knowing us better
In olden days Charans were much respected, being trusted friends through thick and thin. Whoever caused the death of a Charan was turned out of his caste and treated as infamous and degraded beyond redemption. Charans (men or women), when engaged to attend a traveller, protected him by threatening to kill themselves if any harm befell their client.
Always with the Rajputs, they were found in Mewar, Gujarat, and Marwar. Kings and landlords gave them grants of villages, and various kings also gave them Lakh Pasavs, a large gift equivalent to 100,000 rupees. It usually consisted of elephants, money, and ornaments. The kings would also invite them to occupy a place of esteem in the Royal Courts.
Indeed, a Rajput's regard for a Charan was uppermost. In a procession, a Charan would sit on an elephant and the king would walk in attendance. In return, a Charan would always honour a Rajput, by giving him shelter when the Rajput was in distress. A Charan's status was such that, if anyone who committed murder and took shelter at the house of a Charan, the pursuer would not touch the culprit.While they are considered to be great warriors and extremely loyal citizens, they were equally revered by kings for their taste in literature and love for poetry. Because of their ability to compose poems instantaneously, another popular way of addressing members of the Charan caste is "Kaviraj", which literally means "king among poets".
In between social order of the Rajputs and the status of the Brahmans there is a caste of Charans which exercises a great respectability and influence in Rajasthan. The speciality of the caste is that it combines in its characteristics of Rajputs and Brahmans in an adequate manner.

Indeed, a Rajput's regard for a Charan was uppermost. In a procession, a Charan would sit on an elephant and the king would walk in attendance. In return, a Charan would always honour a Rajput, by giving him shelter when the Rajput was in distress. A Charan's status was such that, if anyone who committed murder and took shelter at the house of a Charan, the pursuer would not touch the culprit.While they are considered to be great warriors and extremely loyal citizens, they were equally revered by kings for their taste in literature and love for poetry. Because of their ability to compose poems instantaneously, another popular way of addressing members of the Charan caste is "Kaviraj", which literally means "king among poets".
In between social order of the Rajputs and the status of the Brahmans there is a caste of Charans which exercises a great respectability and influence in Rajasthan. The speciality of the caste is that it combines in its characteristics of Rajputs and Brahmans in an adequate manner.

when Rana Sangram Singh popularly known as Rana Sanga was the ruler of chittorgarh from 1509 to 1527 .He once went to aakhet where an elephent lost his temper and ran towards rana sanga seeing this Haridass mahiyaria who was also accompaning the maharana remembered her sister devi sundar baisa ,atonce the elephant turned around and everyone was safe.after coming to fort Rana Sanga told everyone that in the jungle he saw a hand on the elephants head and thats the moment he got saved .On knowing that it was the hand of non other that "Sundar maa" rana sanga offered Haridasji Mahiyaria to act as rular of Mewar for three days as reward and gave jageer of "Panchli village".Sundar baisa and her hands are worshipped by "Mahiyaria" till today .The main temple is at "Bhildi" in Bhilwara dist.The pond there have miracle and can cure skin desises.

desi daru acchi hai.
Felix Padel ,the great grandson of Charles Darwin finds unadulterated mahua better than scotch .he is a visiting professor of anthropology at IRMA.
well lot of people agree to his theory but than too the fascination with foreign things and difficultly procure material is too high in this country that's why consumption and marketing of local products is less.
the government is not keen for the marketing and production of local and authentic product .
home made Indian wine is very rare and is very good but is not available in local market most of us are even not aware of it .
in olden days royal houses or each princely state use to have there own wine which was locally made and rich in ingredients like sauf ,ilachi kesar etc .and were very rich in taste.
now when foreigners are appreciating it we should legalise and standardise the process of making local or Desi wine .

Daar ke peeche kya hai ?
Everyone knows that “Daar ke aage jeet hai “ but no one is aware what is before daar ? Lets try and find out daar ke pahle kya hai?
Have you ever seen any kid or girl with a bamboo in hand struggling on a rope to balance .
You must have seen a begger with a hunter hurting himself on the back to entertain us .
In fairs we usually see people playing with dangerous animals or try to balance themselves on a bike in a well normally called ‘Mout ka kuan.
All of them have conquered there fear and have came ahead of Daar towards jeet .
Do u know how this journey for conquering daar started they must be somewhere before daar.
And that very point or circumstance which forced them to conquer there fear is hunger.
Hunger of there kids ,mother and beloved ones .to conquer this hunger they fight the fear and become fearless in due course of time .
Now I came to know that..

a lesson to learn..
A person was going with a bag full of Rasgulla sweet .In the way some juice of sweet dripped . A squrrill ran towards it and started eating ,seeing the squrrill a cat ran for squrrill .Meanwhile a dog chased and the cat ran .seeing the dog chasing for cat, another dog ran and both the dogs started barking at eachother.Suddenly the masters of dog arrived and both started a fight for the animal,mob started to build up .as both the masters of the dog were from different community the mob started to fight and a communal raiot started everyone started to harm public property too.
lot of people died.carfue was imposed for seven days by administration.meetings held for communal harmony and peace.a teacher in the meeting asked "why did the riot brokeout ,why did people started the fight?
everyone started to look at each other.nobody knew the actuall cause for the riot .Then the enquiry started and when the root cause of raiot was known everyone was ashamed......
on knowing the incident everyone felt ashamed that drop of juice of sweet is thicker than blood ......

आज कई लोगो के विवाह कार्यक्रम है मगर बरसात ने विघ्न बरपा दिया अतः बिन मौसम बरसात के कई नुक्सान है गरीब को रोज़ ही परेशानी होती है परन्तु सर्दी में बरसात जो की अनायास ही बरस जाती है बड़ी कष्टप्रद है क्योकि इसमें रक्षा हेतु बचाव का इंतजाम भी नहीं हो पाते है .बिमारी का भी ज़ोर रहता है.
गाव मे इस बरसात से उन्ही किसानो को फ़ायदा है जिनकी फसल खलिहान से निकल गई और गेहू की फसल को बोये हुए दस दिन बीत चुके हो अन्यथा नुक्सान ही नुक्सान है.
शादी ब्याह वालों को प्रीतिभोज मे ५०० की जगह १०० व् १००० की जगह ४०० महमानों के आने से सभी इंतजाम व्यर्थ साबित हो गए अन्न का नुक्सान हुआ वह अलग .
इस हाड कप कपा देने वाली सर्दी से पशु पक्षी भी हैरान परेशान होंगे बच्चो का तो बुरा हाल होगा बीमारी से .
क्या यही रोंगटे खड़े करने वाली सर्दी है क्या इस बार प्रकृति हमें जाता रही है की उससे छेड़ छाड़ करने का बुरा खामिअजा भुगतने को तैयार रहे ?

Shivering kids,dew droplets on front glass of car in morning,sleeping blanket cladded .... Winters have started fullfledge.The best time of course for almost everyone as we can enjoy parties ,marriages ,late night coffee with friends ,Rum time for happy go lucky people .
winters are often associated as a season for enjoying all things weather its dressing up for any occasion ,eating anything and so on.
People are energised in this season .The productivity of a person rises in winters that's why many new inventions and targets for companies and even examinations scheduled in winter season show nice results.
In rural India bonfire is the most common feature in winter evenings and has become a meeting point for villagers in evening ,even in urban parts people have made bonfire an important events for evening parties at various occasions.
Have u ever tried a kulfi in a chilling winter night ?
Sleeping late night in a winter Sunday morning also is a great experience.
One must learn to enjoy this lovely time to its fullest.

double standards!
yesterday a news or rather scoop was there in television about Barkha Dutta a prominent reporter indulging herself into bargain between two political parties .but today the news was marginilised by almost every national and local newspaper .why dont these media people act responsibally and give the news without any bias?

people will not ,rather are not taking any news seriously just because they are getting aware of the business part of it .in older days journlism was like social service but now glamour ,compitation etc have spoilt the real purpose of this proffession.

my childhood memories....
Recently a class seventh boy ran away from school with a note kept behind .
This incident reminded me of my childhood .thou it haunts but memories are memories .I was accompanied with two best friends ,we three went to same school in same bus.
The bus use to come at stop,what we use to do was we hide at a plot where there was lot of shrubs and grass.the driver would horn thrice and leave and then we three friends after an hour sitting in that haunted plot with grass and mud underneath, come out and with our bags on our shoulders roam here and there. The whole day ,weather a garden or in front of girls school.One day while we were standing in front of St Marrys a girls school ,a peon from our school by chance saw us and recognised us by our dress, He took us to principal and we got a nice scolding and were told to bring parents the next day .
Another incident was also of the same period when i use to be in class 3rd .i resided at udaipur with my bhua and fufosa ,every saturday my bhua's husband that is my fufosa helped me in taking bath he used some tools like a stone,a dead veg which was kept in sun and was like a scrubber and ,here u should know i am and was born with dark complexion .I suppose he wanted that i should look fair which was his dream never came true.
those were very good days ..........
infact.. as Bryan Adams say those were the best days of my life.

Baal divas .....celebrating with a cause.
Children's day is celebrated today .There are lots of underprivileged children in India ,who if given chance can make the world proud .government with the help of many NGO's is working for the upliftment of them ,but its not enough.
On Baal divas we listen lots of lectures on radio and television about children and keep holiday , is that enough !shouldn't we individuals take one step forward and make arrangements for making at least one kid from slums or anywhere to study at school. it costs just 3000 rupees an year at government school .it could change the feature of one child .Every youngster should come forward for this cause and give his small contribution for nation's prosperity.
Interested people can go to nearby government school and talk to the Principal.
So friends today we should take a pledge to make at least one underprivileged child study to make his feature bright and make our contribution to the progress of our Bharat Mata .This will be our homage to Chacha Nehru and celebrating Children's Day in true sense.

In an action against its corrupt member the government had sacked one of its chief minister for misusing its powers for Adarsh housing society.Than why they are not acting firmly for this 2g spectrum case?
The rani of controversy is again in news. Rakhi Sawant ,yesterday a man committed suicide because rakhi abused him at a show Rakhi ki adalat in front of the nation and thus he committed suicide .
There are many such wrong acts which people come to know but never follow them as they feel it is not there cup of tea or rather they don't have time to fix them up or even lack of courage,thats the reason why these wrong acts are committed more and more and almost by everyone .we should stand up against such act and save the nation and ourselves.

Corruption is caused as well as increased because of the change in value system ,tolerance of people towards corruption and lack of intense public outcry against corruption.

The after effects.....
Diwali the festival of lights was celebrated with great enthuse and fervor .This year the monsoon was good there were lot of rains and everyone is hoping for good days with prosperity ahead.The sensex which is the index of growth was also too high on Diwali. So lot of people did huge shopping,crackers were busted.These crackers are bad for environment and also for health as they could cause diseases like asthma and hearing impart.
This year lot of decorative lights instead of deepak were also used to decorate buildings which helped in wasting electricity.Also crackers enhanced the garbage and lead level with sound pollution which is alarming.
But above all Diwali has emerged as forth national festival as it was celebrated by all communities and all around the country with same josh!
once again a very happy Diwali and a prosperous new year.

Pagarkhi..........the footwear.
Pagarkhi,Jooti,Mojari is still a matter of necessity in rajasthan ,it dominates as the most popular footwear and has charm and grace of its own.Pagarkhis or Jootis or Mojaris are leather shoes or slippers worn by both men and women of all community.
Traditionally Jooti or Mojari is made from camel leather as it is very soft.The Pagarkhi made from sheep and goat leather is stronger and is worn by men while working in fields and travelling.The footwear's upper part is decorated with embroidery on velvet or patch work these beautiful looking mojaris are worn in celebrations like marriages and festivals.
Pagarkhi is mostly tight fitting and triangular at the front end though,in some rare case they may even be rounded.the communities like the Regar,Bhambi and Mochi prepare the leather ,from where the mojari is made.
The process of production starts with cutting leather with sharp knife both for upper and lower sole.Stuck together with home made glue,they are stiched with cotton or leather thread.the upper is then embroidered.Bright colour motifs and contemporary designs are the themes.Bead work or gem stone is used to further enhance the beauty of Pagarkhi.
Mojaris meant for women were traditionally open from behind so it doesn't hurt on there feet .The feet get hurt because of the leather to avoid it men apply some oil at the inner part of the footwear.
these footwear have been exported and even the tourists purchase them with great respect and love to wear them.

Head gear worn in India are Pagdi or paag, Saafa,Topi,Dastar,Dulband and so on.These were traditionally worn as a person's self respect.The turbans are worn by almost all region hindu ,muslim ,sikh etc. so it can be a common cord between all these relegions.
The most commonly worn headwear for Indian men has been a turban .A turban is a length of cloth wrapped in a specific way around the top of the head.The type of fabric and wrapping technique indicate the wearer's social status,profession etc.Turbans are also worn by women in some cultures such as the nomadic Kurds from Syria,Iraq and Turkey.
In rajasthan turban is very popular throughout.Pagdi or Paag is worn in Udaipur region whereas ,the Leheriya or wave pattern turban is worn especially during monsoon season .The Chundri, Panchranga or five colour ,turban is worn for celebrations .whereas the Mothra or dot pattarn in regular occations.Diffrent coloured turban is worn at diffrent occassions like saffron colour turban for dussehra festival as it was treditionally worn while going for battlefield.Red and pink were treditionally worn during wedding .whereas dark maroon ,khaki and blue coloured turbans are worn for a condolence visit.
Now this tradition is fading off as it is not convinent for people to use it in day to day life only some communities like sikhs are practising in urban india while in rural part Turbans are still worn with pride.

Nathuji's.......the best place to hangout at udaipur.
Hang outs in this world of chaos are must for chilling on everyday basis.one such is "nathu ji's"at udaipur near sahleion ki bari .Every youngster in Udaipur must have been to this place once .The trend started when I was in class seventh in 1990,at that time only 2or 3persons were regular, but today almost 40 to 50 persons are regular in visiting nathu ji's.Everyone is friend there ,Most of us are nathu ji friends as we only, but regularly meet at nathu ji's shop .Ironically many of us who are regular even dont know that the shops name is "Garden cafe"as we always call it nathu ji's.Here i would like to tell u that the shop owners name is nathu singh ji who is a calm and cool icecream shop owner and in 1990 he started with one shop and now he rules the place with 3shops all jam packed.
There is also a ciggrette shop adjusten to it owned by ramesh ji but still the annexx is known commonly as nathu ji's .guys gossipp there about anything from day to day life to international issues like united states elections .If anybody had not read the days newspaper and by any chance drop in at nathuji's he will come to know the news !
you can meet your friend who was outof station or even abroad and was expected today, at nathuji's as soon as he land in udaipur, as he will make sure to come to nathuji's once daily if he is in city.

how many husbands went home on time just to avoid any clash today on Karwa chouth ,many might have forgotten The day.

celebrate sensibly
Working for a hotel I tend to be a part of lot of celebrations and late night parties ,many of them are hosted by well off personalities .But sometime problems does arise. People want to enjoy dancing and disco jockeys’ are invited to perform in marriages and other events and they play loud music. This loud music is allowed till 10: 30 pm in our city by law and it is hotel administration’s duty to stop such performances after the prescribed time. It is where my role comes in our organization. I usually inform the guest well in advance that he will have to abort the loud music after 10:30pm, but when the time approaches many a times guest try to get extension of time and for that he requests saying “abhi to time hai’or you can charge a bit more, or let the cops come I will talk to them and so on. But government rules are to be followed and also the neighbours have to sleep peacefully thus I have to do the needful forcefully with a heavy heart ,as I too don’t like to disturb them in their enjoyment.
I don’t understand why these type of people want an extension when they are celebrating but want an action by administration when somebody near there house is playing loud music late night or organizing a jaagran at a temple .

Rasgulla ,Gulabjamun, kajukatli…… Indian sweets are mouthwatering but now slowly chocolates are substituting .Mithai is sweet milk dessert from India. Mithai is traditionally used to be exchanged on festive occations,but now a days chocolates have replaced mithai. In India the main region for it is adulteration in making mithai, as milk and other products are limited so some people have started adulteration and thus customer have switched over to chocolate .
The chocolate industry is an organized industry with lots of multinationals also working and they have a dedicated budget for advertisement and lobbying is also there .now a days even savories like kurkure and bhujias have festive packs .everyone knows that they are not traditionally exchanged on festive occasion but then too lot of people opt for them.
The dairy federations should stand with sweet industry and should take initiative to save Indian sweet bazaar by making standards and can standardize the sweets also by keeping check. These government dairy federations can brand these sweets even make tempting advertisements and come out with ideas to promote sweets and can vigilantly keep track on adulteration also.
