Guru Gorakhnath founder of Nath sect.

Gorakshanath ,also known as Gorakhnath was an 11th to 12th century Hindu Nath yogi, connected to Shaivism as one of the two most important disciples of Matsyendranath, the other beingCaurangi.Of all the Masters through the ages, there is one acknowledged Master who has been referred to in the ancient scriptures, in legends and mystic tales, in passing mention by many renowned masters. Mentioned in the Puranas and other scriptures, he is known as Guru Gorakhnath. 


The Nath Sampradaya, among many others, revere him as Shiva Goraksha.It is said that seeing Guru Gorakhnath in samadhi, Mata Parvati asked Lord Shiva about the yogi. Bhagwan Shankar or Lord Shiva stated that it was his own yogic manifestation. The Nine Naths and 84 Siddhas are aspects of Shiva himself, and legend suggests that they predate creation.


There are innumerable legends about Guru Gorakshnath, though there are no records of when he was born and where he hails from. He is mentioned with reference to Adi Shankaracharya who lived in the eighth century whereas some believe it to be anytime from 8th century to several centuries later. The Dabistan I Mazahib, the prophet Mohammad is reported as meeting him, Buddha (6th to 7th century), the kings Gopichand and Baratari (8th to 11th century) were disciples, Kabir Das (14th century) mentions Gorakshnath in the Kabir Granthvali and through all the ages. These are the legends where by his existence & references is found in all the ages i.e, Satyuga, TretaYuga,DwaparYuga and Kalyuga.The Nath tradition underwent its greatest expansion during the time of Gorakshanath. He produced a number of writings and even today is considered the greatest of the Naths. It has been purported that it was Gorakshanath who wrote the first books on Laya yoga. In India there are many caves, many with templs built over them, where it is said that Gorakshanath spent time in meditation. Gorakhnath is also a lineage bearer of Buddhist Tantra in Tibet.



Guru Gorakhnath said to be travelled from Nepal to Punjab and Rajasthan to Far south Srilanka.Gorakhnath is said to be the author of the Goraksha Paddhati ("Track of Goraksha" -- also called the Goraksha Samhita, a foundational treatise on esoteric Hatha Yoga.

A traditional story is told about the appearance of Gorakhnath. He was not born in the normal sense. A holy man named Matsyendranath used to go door-to-door to beg for food and, in exchange, offered blessings and wisdom. At one house, the woman asked if she would ever have a child. Matsyendranath gave her some holy ash and said if she swallowed it she would have a child. The woman told her neighbor who derided her naivete in believing such things, so she threw the ash away on a dung heap. Twelve years later, Matsyendranath returned and asked how the child was doing. The woman confessed what she had done with the ash. The holy man went to the dung heap and prayed, calling to the boy. A beautiful 12-year-old boy emerged. Matsyendranath took the boy with him. That boy was Gorakhnath.

Disaster Management .....

Disaster either completely disrupts the normal life or it  negatively influences the emergency systems Normal needs and processes like food, shelter, health, etc. are affected and deteriorate depending on the intensity. We tend to view disaster as an exceptional natural or technical event that interrupt “normal” development but in reality a wide variety of factors may increase the risk of a disaster.

When earthquake hit Gujarat on 26 January 2001and more than 20000 people died, we thought as a society we would learn to cope with disaster better. It seems that 20000 lives were not enough of a price to pay for shaking the bureaucracy and civil society to learn to cope with disasters with greater efficiency. Most disasters after the first 24 hours assume more or less typical characteristics in which the problems can be anticipated and response system can be put in place.One of the major problems in relief is that what is needed where is often not known to the people who want to provide support. The result is that lot of materials get wasted or misdirected. We need to put a spreadsheet immediately on the web pointing out village wise needs, contact person's names and addresses so that civil society efforts can be targeted more efficiently.

Finally, just would like to add that more emphasis in our country is on the rescue and relief operations and less on the preparedness to minimize the effect of a disaster.a big part of the northern India is in the seismic zone, prone to earthquake,Floods in Orrisa and Bihar are common and not to forget these bomb blasts !

Moonsons at my village

When the dark monsoon clouds gather in the sky, it sometimes takes me back to the good and bad old days of monsoon in our village.we spend our days playing with paper boats in the rain-made streams.We use to see down over the fields and new born streams , peacock dancing ,sheeps crowded and standing together It is the village beauty in monsoon.


One compulsory daily activity was to seal the holes in tile roof. Since the first monsoon arrives soon after a hot summer, tile roofing gets little time to get accustomed to the change in climate and leaks badly. People used  a long stick  to poke the tiles and close the gap between the interconnected tiles, and in this process,They sometimes broke the tile and let rain come in like a water fall which is fun and frustration at the same time.


Monsoon evenings were magical. We sit simply looking out at the rain, sipping on a cup of hot Tea, while Vividh Bharti, the only radio station available in our place at that time, fills our ears with beautiful songs.Sometimes I and my sister splashed in puddles, got drenched in the rain and smelt the earth together with crispy fried goodies, heard the buzz in the air of happy sounds of laughter, shrieks of joy on spotting a rainbow in the sky still today we fall in love with rain.

Worrying thing about monsoon is that most nights are spent in total darkness. Trees have a soul-connection with power lines, and when they fall they take the power lines along with them. We often live without power for weeks.But when the crops of TIL and Cotton along with Pulses ripe we felt thanking the monsoon for the blessings he had on us that year and hope for the same every comming year.

Two 9/11 survivor says after 10 yrs .

Elizabeth Turner, Elizabeth was seven months pregnant when work took her husband from London to New york  for a business confrence 
"Simon ,my husband of two years ,worked in publishing and in september2001 flew out with 16 colleagues for a confrence at the windows on the world restaurant on the 106th floor of World trade center's north tower",she says.
"At that time I was working in HR for British television channel 4.I was at the office canteen for lunch when I caught sight of the first plane hitting the tower on the news.Then the second tower was hit and everyone said it was a terrorist attack.
"I panicked and tried to ring Simon.I didn't get through. From that moment everything felt like an out of body experience.
"The pain of losing him was excruciating but I couldn't kill myself as I was  pregnant ."
Thankfully ,Elizabeth carried to full term and gave birth to baby William.

George Sleigh ,The British born naval architect was working on the 91st floor when the north tower was struck.Now 73 and retired ,he lives in Ohio.
"I was on the phone in my office when I heard the loud roar of a plane,which then hit the building about eight meters above my head.The ceiling began collapsing on top of me ,so I covered my head with my hands and prayed to god to save me.Although I was almost buried under debris,I was unhurt.I grabbed my briefcase and threw my address book into it .My wife,Elaine,had just moved offices and I couldn't remember her number.I left my office within minutes.


"There were three stairwells,two of which were blocked with rubble.I took the third.I wasn't scared and didn't   imagine the building would collapse.The stairwell was well lit and everyone was walking down calmly.I quietly joined them.The heat was incredible as I walk down ,there was smoke and I could smell kerosene.

"When I reached the 35 th floor everything went pitch black .I used my flashlight to navigate through dark. We reached  the 20th floor a female colleague said she would rest for a while .I tried to persuade her to come with us ,but she declined.A passing  fireman said he would look after her.Later I discovered that she didn't make it.At ground level ,I found that two of the four exits had been blocked by debris.I chose to go to the open one on the right ,six of the group went to the left .I learnt later that they had died.

"As I left the tower I heard screams and noises.People were jumping from the windows of the tower.Only firefighters were heading into the tower else everyone were taking the way out . I was dazed and covered with dust and blood .I lost all concepts of time.

Since 9/11 I no longer easily trust people .I worry about anyone carrying a bag in public transport and I still wonder what I could have done to prevent my colleagues from talking the wrong exit and how I could have prevented .

Female infanticide of the past refined and honed to a fine skill in this modern guise.There are several reasons why Indians favor boys. Traditionally; the son and heir is the focus of an Indian family's pride, and the cost of a dowry for daughters which can include a house for the newlyweds and cars, holidays and any number of TVs, DVD players and electric rice-cookers for the groom's family can be excruciating.  Noted in The Lancet that because of the cost of dowry and weddings, daughters in India were a "liability."Also, there's a simple economic imperative: in what is still a fairly male-dominated society, boys earn more.


In the global scenario India is becoming a force to reckon with and we are very proud of this fact. But there are some home truths that we are unaware of or are turning a deaf year to them,female infanticide is one .Female infanticide is a deliberate and intentional act of killing a female child within one year of its birth either directly by using poisonous organic and inorganic chemicals or indirectly by deliberate neglect to feed the infant by either one of the parents or other family members. On the other hand female feticide is the termination of the life of a foetus within the womb on the grounds that its sex is female and is also known as sex selective abortion.


 A 2005 study estimated that over 90 million females were "missing" from the expected population in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan, South Korea and Taiwan alone, and suggested that sex-selective abortion plays a role in this deficit.out of the 15,914 abortions performed during 1984-85 almost 100 per cent were those of girl fetuses. Similarly, a survey report of women’s centre in Mumbai found that out of 8,000 fetuses aborted in six city hospitals 7,999 fetuses were of girls. It has also been reported that about 4,000 female babies are aborted in Tamil Nadu every year. India's 2011 census shows a serious decline in the number of girls under the age of seven - activists fear eight million female fetuses may have been aborted between 2001 and 2011.


According to unofficial estimates, nearly 2500 cases of female foeticide or female infanticide take place in the state of Rajasthan everyday and it does seem that an apathetic government is standing by and watching the story of this silent genocide. Jaisalmer district has a sharply skewed sex ratio of 869 girls per 1000 boys. It is a belt notorious for killing its daughters. Yet in the history of the district, an FIR was only lodged for the first time in April this year(2011), while the government continues to look the other way as this mass murder on a scale unseen in any other district in the country continues.

An image that stood out in the crowd was the participation of a number of traditional  women in the protest, who made a rare appearance without their husbands to fearlessly raise banners against female infanticide, and made their voices heard from under their veil. Krishna Kanwar, wrapped in a traditional red ghaghra and veil, was one of them. “I was forced to kill my girl child a few years ago, and it was time I came out to protest against this crime that many others like me are forced to commit everyday,” she says with quiet strength, clutching her five-year-old son close to her. Is there finally a whiff of change, and can Krishna sleep peacefully at night?

The Thick Blood .

Throughout the 
various gradations of its nobility, it was the original policy to 
introduce some who were foreign in country and blood. Chiefs of 
the Rathor, Chauhan, Pramara, Solanki, and Bhatti tribes were 
intermingled. Of these several were lineal descendants of the 
most ancient races of the kings of Delhi and Anhilwara Patan ;
and from these, in order to preserve the purity of blood, the 
princes of Mewar took their wives, when the other princes of 
Hind assented to the degradation of giving daughters in 
marriage to the emperors of Delhi. The princes of Mewar never 
yielded in this point, but preserved their ancient manners amidst 
all vicissitudes. In like manner did the nobles of the Rana's 
blood take daughters from the same tribes ; the interest of this 
foreign race was therefore strongly identified with the general 
welfare, and on all occasions of internal turmoil and rebellion 
they invariably supported their prince. But when these wise 
institutions were overlooked, when the great clans increased 
and congregated together, and the crown demesne was impover- 
ished by prodigality, rebellions were fostered by Mahratta 
rapacity, which were little known during the lengthened para- 
mount sway of the kings of Delhi. This foreign admixture 
will lead us to the discussion of the different kinds of grants : 
a difference, perhaps, more nominal than real, but exhibiting a 
distinction so wide as to imply grants resumable and irresum- 
able. 

Kala Pattas.- It is elsewhere related that two great clans, 
descendants of the Ranas Rae Mall and Udai Singh, and their 
numerous scions, forming subdivisions with separate titles or 
patronymics, compose the chief vassalage of this country. 

Exogamy. — Chondawat and Saktawat are the stock ; the 
former is subdivided into ten, the latter into about six clans. 
Rajputs never intermarry with their own kin : the prohibition 
has no limit ; it extends to the remotest degree. All these clans 
are resolvable into the generic term of ' the race ' or Kula Sesodia. 
A Sesodia man and woman cannot unite in wedlock — all these 
are therefore of the blood royal ; and the essayists on population 
would have had a fine field in these quarters a century ago, ere 
constant misery had thinned the coimtry, to trace the numerous 

बम धमाके !!! खुद ही कुछ करना होगा |

कल फिर धमाको से देश का दिल देहल गया |भारत का दिल कहे जाने वाली दिल्ली मे धमाका कायरता का नंगा नाच |इस खोकले आतंक से वीर शिवाजी ,प्रथ्विराज चौहान ,टीपू सुलतान ,रानी लक्ष्मीबाई ,भगत सिंह ,गाँधी जी ,और अन्ना के अनुयाइयो को अब कोई उनके इरादों से नहीं डिगा सकता |

कल तीस हजारी कोर्ट मे धमाका हुआ ,प्रधानमंत्री ने जनता से अपील करी की सभी यथावत कार्य करे और हिम्मत दिखा कर दुराचारियो को एकता का नज़ारा दिखा उनके हौसले पस्त कर दे |यह अपील कर देश के राजनीतिज्ञों ने संसद का कार्य बंद कर संसद स्थगित कर दी |वही एकता अखंडता और हिम्मत की मिसाल पेश करते हुए तीस हजारी कोर्ट जिसके द्वार पर दर्दनाक धमाका हुआ वहा के वकीलों ने १ घंटे तक लाशो और घायलों की तीमारदारी करने के बाद फिर से कोर्ट का कार्य यथावत कर के आतंकियों को मुह की दी |वकीलों के इस जज्बे को सलाम |वही हमारे राजनीतिज्ञ जो संसद का स्थगन कर चले गए मगरमच्छ के आसू बहाने |

फिर अस्पतालों मे घायलों की मिजाजपुर्सी ,विस्फोट स्थल का मुआयना  आदि ..सब कुछ वैसा ही जैसा हर विस्फोट के बाद होता है |क्या सरकार आगे भविष्य मे विस्फोट न होने की गारंटी देसकती है | हर धमाके के बाद जनता को आश्वस्त करती है की कड़े कदम उठेगे नतीजा शून्य है | क्या हुआ आजतक हुए धमाको के बाद की रिपोर्टो का ? क्या एक भी बम धमाके की जांच रिपोर्ट सार्वजनिक की गई ?

कल राम मनोहर लोहिया अस्पताल मे धमाको के बाद राहुल जी ,नितिन गडकरी व् विजय मल्होत्रा पहुचे परन्तु एक मृतक के पिता ने यह कहते हुए उन्हें रोक दिया की "हमें नेताओ का भाषण नहीं सुनना " इससे यह पता चलता है की आम इंसान का भरोसा सभी नेताओ चाहे वो भाजपा हो या कांग्रेस सभी से उठ चूका है |जनता जान चुकी है की खुद ही कुछ करना होगा |आज सब को अन्ना बनना ही होगा |
