Hang outs in this world of chaos are must for chilling on everyday basis.one such is "nathu ji's"at udaipur near sahleion ki bari .Every youngster in Udaipur must have been to this place once .The trend started when I was in class seventh in 1990,at that time only 2or 3persons were regular, but today almost 40 to 50 persons are regular in visiting nathu ji's.Everyone is friend there ,Most of us are nathu ji friends as we only, but regularly meet at nathu ji's shop .Ironically many of us who are regular even dont know that the shops name is "Garden cafe"as we always call it nathu ji's.Here i would like to tell u that the shop owners name is nathu singh ji who is a calm and cool icecream shop owner and in 1990 he started with one shop and now he rules the place with 3shops all jam packed.

There is also a ciggrette shop adjusten to it owned by ramesh ji but still the annexx is known commonly as nathu ji's .
guys gossipp there about anything from day to day life to international issues like united states elections .If anybody had not read the days newspaper and by any chance drop in at nathuji's he will come to know the news !
you can meet your friend who was outof station or even abroad and was expected today, at nathuji's as soon as he land in udaipur, as he will make sure to come to nathuji's once daily if he is in city.
thats the magic of this place ....

Karwa chouth !  is there any relevance for such festivals in this age where society is giving scansion's for livin relationships and where marriages have become a legal contract rather than intimate bonds .

How many ladies have observed this festival today with wholeheartedness ? and how many remained hungry just because the husband may buy them an expensive gift ,
or
 how many husbands went home on time just to avoid any clash today on Karwa chouth ,many might have forgotten The day.
In a world where serials like 'Kali' etc are booming in TRP's how many wives blindly and fearlessly follow there husbands and remain hungry for their long life?

celebrate sensibly

Working for a hotel I tend to be a part of lot of celebrations and late night parties ,many  of them are hosted by well off personalities .But sometime problems does arise. People want to enjoy dancing and disco jockeys’ are invited to perform in marriages and other events and they play loud music. This loud music is allowed till 10: 30 pm in our city by law and it is hotel administration’s duty to stop such performances after the prescribed time. It is where my role comes in our organization. I usually inform the guest well in advance that he will have to abort the loud music after 10:30pm, but when the time approaches many a times guest try to get extension of time and for that he requests saying “abhi to time hai’or you can charge a bit more, or let the cops come I will talk to them and so on. But government rules are to be followed and also the neighbours have to sleep peacefully thus I have to do the needful forcefully with a heavy heart ,as I too don’t like to disturb them in their enjoyment.
 I don’t understand why these type of people want an extension when they are celebrating but want an action by administration when somebody near there house is playing loud music late night or organizing a jaagran at a temple .

Rasgulla ,Gulabjamun, kajukatli…… Indian sweets are mouthwatering but now slowly chocolates are substituting .Mithai is sweet milk dessert from India. Mithai is traditionally used to be exchanged on festive occations,but now a days chocolates have replaced mithai. In India the main region for it is adulteration in making mithai, as milk and other products are limited so some people have started adulteration and thus customer have switched over to chocolate .

The chocolate industry is an organized industry with lots of multinationals also working and they have a dedicated budget for advertisement and lobbying is also there .now a days even savories like kurkure and bhujias have festive packs .everyone knows that they are not traditionally exchanged on festive occasion but then too lot of people opt for them. 

The dairy federations should stand with sweet industry and should take initiative to save Indian sweet bazaar by making standards and can standardize the sweets also by keeping check. These government dairy federations can brand these sweets even make tempting advertisements  and come out with ideas to promote sweets and can vigilantly keep track on adulteration also.

dusshera.....in true sence

Dusshera is celebrated today around the country will lot of festivities and joy .The elimination ritual of king ravana who is supposed as the symbol of evil .
How many of us have shed any of their bad habits on this day ?
True significance of Dusshera festival will be  only if we imply it in our life and shed at least one of our bad habit ,practices.
BUT its not that easy as we think ….
Today three dalits were fined 45000 for drinking water at public taps isn’t  it a ravana act on dusshera.
Well we all know this is one which came to light there are many and each of us might have performed several ..
Please wake up .
Only destroying the idol of demon king is not enough burn the ills within and celebrate !

my memories of Ihm Chennai hostel days ....

It was the summer of 1999 when I stepped at the Chennai central accompanied with my father and girju data .we checked in a hotel near the railway station .next morning after we were done with the formalities we went to tirupati balaji for darshans .it was a great experience .
Next morning my father and girju data left me with my luggage at ihmct&an boy hostel’s room no 18 and left for Udaipur.

I came to know that I have to live with my roommate Narayan Tharoor from Pallacad .As soon as we setteled we were asked to come to the mess where briefing was conducted by some seniors who told us about the Personality Development Program (PDP)  which will follow from now .full sleeves shirt slippers in wrong legs and the upper most button to be tied every time at  hostel premises .and very important thing the five friends to be kept in the paint pocket every time and nothing in shirt pocket.
Some other interesting things I remember now after 10 years are the hostel song ,learning the names with room nos of all hostalites .the bad days ended before  dusshera breaks  ,the day the Hindu god ram got victory over ravana the demon king .we had a freshers party with our own money and still enjoyed the freedom.
Kanagam was the place where we hostallites use to go for party after mid night ‘garnish ‘on a birthday and use to have tea ,coffee,ragi,biscuits and of course smoke.annexxe was the other place outside the campus where we use to get smoke and vada’s in collage time .Rotas at mess and the fried chicken on Sundays and Wednesday at mess are a few things I miss a lot .

Pushkar who joined us as the third roommate was an adventurous boy and we both used to explore Chennai we went to movies followed with dinner almost everyday after classes .I remember one insident when I returned from home after breaks the wine shopkeeper called us and asked ‘anna long time no see’.
The teachers I can recall are Chef Sabapati ,Chef Roberts  Chef Parimala ,
 Chef abhraam in second year once scolded me as I was standing outside the class with my shoe on the wall he told me that I am making the wall dirty even today whenever I remember the chef and the insident. Mr. Dadhwal with his French and Mr. Gitesh with his French classical menu ,even Mr. Thambu with his communication skills  are few teachers I still remember.

Khambha,sutta king nirjhar,machli,Nunnu were some nicknames saju dushyant ankur, rahul dev swami  goseph george ,ABD,dutta chitlaa above all Drigesh and many  I still remember .everyone was friend, mess nights were great but incomplete without booze and music. The ODC’s which fetched us some cash to enjoy ,girls from girls hostel neha ,babita,Dipti and pratima were few I could still remember .many of my friends are abroad also .Hope everyone else are well off in life .
